LENNY DYKSTRA FILES FRAUD SUIT OVER DOCUMENTARY

On August 5, 2018, former MLB Mets slugger and convicted felon Lenny Dykstra filed a fraud suit in New York Supreme Court against DLP Media Group LLC (“DLP”) for allegedly cutting him out of $400,000 it recouped from Amazon after they cancelled a planned documentary on the baseball player’s life.

Dykstra claimed after months of discussions with DLP executives to produce a documentary about Dykstra based on his New York Times best selling autobiography, “House of Nails: A Memoir of Life on the Edge”, DLP told him that Amazon had cancelled the project and asked him to sign a release without informing Dykstra of the $400,000 they had received from Amazon.

Dykstra is suing for fraud and breach of contract, among other claims, and is seeking unspecified damages.

The case is Lenny Dykstra v. DLP Media Group, LLC, et al., case number 653868/2018, in the New York Supreme Court.
